Morey is excited to bring real-world voices into our classrooms!

We’re looking for guest speakers and community organizations who can help our students explore new interests and careers. If you or someone you know might be a great fit—or if you work with a group that could host short morning excursions near the school—please share your ideas in the form linked below!

When: Seminar block (8:50–9:35 AM) any weekday between October 27 and December 19
What we need: Career speakers, special interest performers/workshop hosts, community organization partnerships, near-by excursion opportunities.

🌙✨ Shakespeare in the Parking Lot! 🎭🚗
Yesterday our students got a front-row seat (well… blacktop seat!) to A Midsummer Night’s Dream—performed live right in the parking lot! 💫 Fairies, mischief, and magic under the open (sunny) sky made for an unforgettable experience. Huge thanks to the cast and crew for bringing the Bard to life in such a fun and accessible way!

Morey 6th Graders began their 6th Grade Connections Class this week. Through play dough and spaghetti towers, they had fun meeting new peers and building new friendships to start the year! This class will meet every Tuesday and Thursday throughout Quarter 1.

First Friday Fun gave students and teachers the chance to (re)connect by participating in choice activities within their grade level teams. Fun, joy, and collaboration were in full force at Morey the first week of school!

DPS Women in Sports Leadership is excited to have a table at the 2nd Annual Girls in the Game event on Saturday, August 16th hosted by CBS Colorado. This free event is designed to encourage, inspire, and empower girls to consider a career in sports on and off the field. Over 40 organizations will be on hand and over 100 women who represent careers in the sports industry. This year we’re excited to have the Denver Broncos, Women’s Elite Rugby, Denver Summit F.C, DPS Women in Sports Leadership Team... among many others. Ms. Wickham and Mr. Schwartz took some of our Morey students on an inspiring service learning trip last month to Guatemala. Their service learning project was to paint a mural for the community. Everyone worked hard and played hard - having loads of fun the entire trip, while learning about Guatemalan culture.

This Discovery Week, we empowered students to explore, create, and grow beyond the textbook!" 🎓✨ Whether students learned how to Tango and Salsa, explored various wildlife at The Urban Farm, learned how to make a flower arrangement, traveled to DC or NYC, or possibly road RTD for the first time -- all students had a week of fun and discovered new things about themselves and the world around them.
